The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) program is aimed at delivering eight such boats designed and built by Goa Shipyard Limited. These vessels are intended to protect India’s offshore and island territories. Each FPV has a length of 52 meters, breadth of 8 meters, max speed of 27 knots, Controllable Pitch Propeller-based propulsion system and displacement of 320 tons. The shipyard was awarded a Rs 473 crore ($60 million) contract in 2022. The first vessel should be commissioned in 2025 or 2026.

Indian Coat Guard Orders Eight Fast Patrol Vessels from Goa Shipyard Limited

Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) for construction of eight Fast Patrol Vessels for Indian Coast Guard at a total project cost of Rs 473 crore.
